Check your eligibility
You'll need a Private Pilot certificate, a current medical, BFR and at least 50 hours of cross country PIC time.

Pass the written test
Take the FAA Instrument rating(IRA) knowledge test before you arrive, so all 10 days go to flying.

Fly for 10 days
Eight hours a day of flight and ground training with your checkride scheduled before training ends.

Transferable within 6 months
Aircraft time is dry: you refuel at the end of each flight and pay for fuel directly. The checkride examiner (DPE) fee is not included and is paid directly to the DPE on exam day. All payments are non-refundable but transferable within 6 months.
